James joined the group in May 2014 to work on the development of collaborative web applications for the visualisation of large and complex data. He comes from a background of software engineering and consulting in a variety of industries, including finance, telecommunications and defence. His experience includes work on very large databases and highly reliable applications for critical systems.

James holds a B. Software Engineering from the Australian National University, and M. Multimedia from Swinburne University. For the latter degree he worked on developing mobile apps utilising speech recognition to facilitate practice of speech production in children fitted with cochlear implants.
