The Monash Adaptive Visualisation Lab (MArVL) has become the Immersive Analytics Lab (IALab).
Steve Kieffer, recent IALab doctoral graduate, was just awarded the IEEE Visualization and Graphics Technical Committee (VGTC) Best Doctoral Dissertation Award for 2017. The award was presented to him last week at IEEE VIS 2017, the premier Visualisation conference.
Congratulations to Steve, and to his supervisors Kim Marriott, Tim Dwyer and Michael Wybrow.
Congratulations Matthias, Tobias, Cagatay, Tim and Kim for Best paper award at IEEE BDVA 2016 for the paper:
M. Klapperstück, T. Czauderna, C. Goncu, J. Glowacki, T. Dwyer, F. Schreiber and K. Marriott: ‘ContextuWall: peer collaboration using (large) displays’ (Proc. IEEE Big Data Visual Analytics – BDVA), 2016 (to appear).
Congratulations Yalong, Tim and Kim for getting an Honorable Mention for Best Paper Award at IEEE InfoVis 2016 for the paper:
Y. Yang, T. Dwyer, S. Goodwin and K. Marriott, “Many-to-Many Geographically-Embedded Flow Visualisation: An Evaluation,” IEEE Trans. Visual. Comput. Graphics, To appear 2016.
Congratulations to MArVL PhD student Anuradha Madugalla who was awarded Google’s Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship for recognition of her research into accessible floor plans.
